Associates in Training Committee
- Details
The Associates in Training Committee was created to give GP trainees the opportunity to voice their opinions on the development of policy and future initiatives in relation to their GP training and membership.
The Committee is run ‘by trainees, for trainees’. We aim to provide support through identifying and solving problems that may arise and will be an advocate for trainees in liaising with the Deanery and Royal College through a local representative. The sort of issues that may arise can be anything from training posts to exam queries.
We recognise that GP registrars can often feel isolated from their peer group when based in primary care, and we therefore can provide support through regular meetings and social events.
The Committee usually meets quarterly, and often the meetings are tied in with the School Board meeting, so that are if there are any issues or concerns, these can be raised promptly.
