In selecting General Practice as your chosen career you have embarked on a road that is sometimes tricky and hard to negotiate but at the end of which you will have a fantastic and fulfilling career.

There is nothing like General Practice in terms of the variety and scope it offers and the ability to develop ‘interests’ within the Generalist role. The rewards in General practice are many not just financial but also the ability to foster long term relationships with patients and the community, to follow patients and families through illness and recovery and sometimes having to deal with terminal illness and death. In all this time you will be working in a close knit team of doctors, nurses, receptionists, and community health care professionals together with secondary care colleagues coordinating patient care.
