Medical Emergencies for the Dental Team

Saturday 08 September 2012, 09:00 - 17:00

This course is now cancelled

Course Outline

The GDC has stated that all dentists & their teams must be able to respond to medical emergencies that may occur in their practice. It is also now mandatory to include medical emergencies training in the five year CPD cycles. A joint document has been issued from the GDC & Resuscitation Council stating the emergencies that dentists should be able to manage as "first responders" & this includes the use of Automated External Defibrillators. Mersey Deanery has subsidised a series of one day courses to facilitate the provision of this training for dentists & DCPs. These courses are subsidised by the Deanery for the next twelve months & are limited to 6 courses in total.

The instructors on the course are ALS instructors & experienced in teaching dentists & DCPs.

Casual clothing recommended - the defibrillators used for training on this course are "live".
