ENHANCED FORM R
Please visit our Frequently Asked Questions Section for further information on the Enhanced Form R
The Enhanced Form R is a mandatory document which registers the Core Trainee or Specialist Trainee (including Academic and GP Trainees) with the Postgraduate Dean.
It is required every year of Postgraduate Specialist Training.
As from December 2012, the Enhanced Form R is an annual requirement for the ARCP/RITA Process as it forms a part of Revalidation.
The Enhanced Form R is requested via email from the Postgraduate School Administrator on an annual basis annually in line with your ARCP and Revalidation Process.
It is to be returned no earlier than 4 weeks prior and no later than 3 weeks prior to your Portfolio/RITA Review.
Upon receipt of your completed Enhanced Form R, Personal Details Form, Conditions of Training and any supporting documentation, you will be contacted by your Postgraduate School Administrator to confirm your National Training Number (NTN) or Deanery Reference Number (DRN).
Please note that failure to supply this information by the required date may result in a decision taken that some of your training may not be recognised, as you will not be registered with the Mersey Deanery.
The annual submission of the Enhanced Form R is essential as it:
- Ensures the doctor is registered on the Postgraduate Dean's database
- Initiates the Annual Review of Competence Progression (ARCP) process
- For those trainees with a NTN or those entering a core training programme, this will result in the Postgraduate Dean forwarding a copy of the registration form to the relevant Royal College or Faculty advising that a new trainee has been registered in the Deanery and giving his/her training number and GMC programme approval number.
- Forms a part of the mandatory Revalidation Process
If there are any changes to the information supplied on these forms after submission to the Mersey Deanery, it is the trainee’s responsibility to contact the relevant Postgraduate School Administrator.
Newly appointed trainees: Please refer to the New Starters section for the documentation you are required to supply.
Existing trainees: Please refer to the Existing Trainees section for the documentation you are required to supply annually.
