We are a three-partner practice in a very pleasant part of rural Cheshire, located a few miles outside Chester.

We have a spacious Health Centre, with a dedicated Registrar Consulting Suite, a library and conference facilities. We also have two branch surgeries located in the nearby villages of Kelsall and Ashton.

We pride ourselves on being a small friendly practice, heavily committed to teaching. We have been a training practice for almost thirty years. Robin Gleek our trainer has been training for over 20 years. The practice also teaches undergraduate medical students from Liverpool University. The two other partners, Jackie Griffin and Alistair Adey both have MRCGP, and our associate GP Julia Dancy recently gained MRCGP with Distinction. All of our Drs are involved in some teaching and support of our Registrars.

An unusual feature of the practice is our GP run Community Hospital. We are able to admit and look after our own patients, as well as having outpatient clinics.

We have opted out of providing out of hours cover but Registrars join the local PCT run OOH service based in Chester for their 12 sessions.

We are able to offer experience in Minor Surgery, Antenatal clinic and Child Health Surveillance on site.

The practice is heavily committed to the PCT, as Robin is the Education and Appraisal lead for NHS Western Cheshire.

As you would expect we have an active Primary Health Care Team who meet regularly and who are all happy to offer support to GP Registrars.

We are fully computerised, paper light, and with over 20 years of clinical data recorded.

If you are considering applying to Western Cheshire and would like to have an informal ‘look around’ please speak to our practice manager Mike Guest to arrange a convenient time.
