Background
Mersey Medical Leadership School was established by an enthusiastic group of junior doctors, who recognised the need for greater opportunities for the development of leadership skills amongst Mersey Trainees. In line with the National Leadership Framework/Curriculum, MMLS launched with a series of free of charge, interactive, successful and well-attended events in 2010/11. Now, with the support of Mersey Deanery and an ever-growing membership, MMLS continues to organise and publicise leadership and management events in Mersey and beyond.
Mission Statement
Mersey Medical Leadership School brings together a community of emerging clinical leaders, empowered with the common goal of strengthening clinical leadership and driving transformational change within the NHS.
Working in conjunction with Mersey Deanery and the Emerging Clinical Leaders Network, we aim to provide quality, interactive events and learning opportunities for Mersey trainees; focused on developing locally and nationally applicable leadership, management and interpersonal skills.
Our Message
- Developing Leadership skills is vitally important for all health care providers, whatever their level or specialty
- Better leadership skills make better health care providers, and subsequently a better, safer, more efficient healthcare service for our patients.
