Terms of Reference and Membership

Objectives (overall scope) of the School Board

To support the Postgraduate Dean in the development of effective commissioning of Public Health training in the North West.

To support the Postgraduate Dean in the quality management of training and ensure that the School proactively supports the quality agenda as set by the regulator GMC and the Mersey and North Western Deaneries.

To oversee and implement strategic and operational direction for training in Public Health in the North West.

Reporting arrangements

The School Board will report to the Postgraduate Dean, Mersey Deanery.

Minutes of School Board meetings will be received for information by the Mersey Deanery Senior Management Team (SMT).

Board membership

Core membership:

Head of School (Chair)

Associate Dean Lead for School (or alternate lead)

Training Programme Directors (or deputy)

Director, North West Health Alliance (on behalf of Regional Director of Public Health)

Medical Education Manager

Trainee representatives

Section Leader for School

Lay member


Wider membership:

Postgraduate Dean

Health Protection Unit representative

Faculty Adviser

University of Liverpool representative

Lead Employer Hr representative


Meetings

The School Board will meet a minimum of three times per annum.

Board meetings will only be quorate if there are at least six Board members present.

The Board will be arranged and serviced by the relevant School Administrator.

Review

Terms of Reference and Membership of the School Board will be reviewed annually (January).
