RADIOLOGY SPECIALTY TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMITTEE (STEC) 
TERMS OF REFERENCE

1. OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE STEC

The overall purpose of the STEC is to oversee the provision, quality and efficiency of Clinical Radiology training in Merseyside and to have an overview of the current status of recruitment.  

The STEC reports to the School of Radiology Board respectively about the status of training in Merseyside.  

The STEC also has a role in ensuring it implements training directives from the respective colleges and disseminates other training-related information as appropriate.  STEC members represent Merseyside Radiology training among key stakeholders

4. LEADERSHIP OF THE STEC:

5. MEETINGS OF THE STEC:

The STEC will meet a minimum of two times per annum.  The next STEC will be taking place on 27th May 2015, Committee Room 2, Regatta Place, 9.30am - 11.30am. 

The STEC will only be quorate if there are at least six STEC members present and will be arranged and serviced by the relevant School Administrator: Natalie Dawson

6. DECISION MAKING ON THE STEC:

Consensus in decision-making on recommendations will be the way of work within the STEC.

If a consensus is not possible then will go with that a majority vote of 70/30%. 

Anyone on the committee can take issues forward by asking to put them on the agenda.

The STEC on 28th January 2015 had approved a Departmental Basic Recommendations for Radiology Registrar Training.  This is a list of standardisations of what the STEC recommend and expect within departments.  

7. REVIEW

Terms of Reference and membership of the STEC will be reviewed annually (January).
